LeROY PINE RIVER - Feb. 23, 2006 - There wasn't much to choose from between Whittemore-Prescott and Pine River heading into Wednesday's regional championship match.
Both have nine individual regional qualifiers Both have plenty of experience with winning: the Bucks have nine consecutive district titles, the Cards seven. Both had plenty of experience with wrestlers returning from last year's state-qualifying squads (Pine River lost to Division 3 champ Montrose in last year's quarterfinals, W-P to Division 4 champion Addison). And both came off relatively painless regional semifinal victories earlier in the evening (W-P 62-9 over Kingsley, Pine River 46-33 over Carrollton after building a 46-15 lead and forfeiting its last three matches).
