JOHN GLENN - May 16, 2006 - The Oscoda softball team came away from its doubleheader at John Glenn Tuesday unbeaten, if not quite pulling off a sweep.
The Owls took a 13-4 victory in the first game, and the second game ended in a 7-7 tie.
"We started out excited and never looked back," said Oscoda coach Jamie Samotis. "When we come out aggressive, we usually stay aggressive. It was a couple of fun games to play."
The Owls took advantage of the wildness of John Glenn's pitching, converting walks into runs. Heather Walker, Heather Spenceley and Heather Patterson each had doubles, with Patterson, Spenceley, Riley Shelton, Missy Bell and Riley Shelton all picking up singles.
"Heather Spenceley played with a lot of aggressiveness," Samotis said. "She played well all-around -- running the bases, hitting the ball and outstanding in the field."
The Owls improved to 1-10-1 in NEMC play. John Glenn dropped to 2-9-1.
