OGEMAW HEIGHTS - May 15, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights did its part Monday, handing Oscoda a pair of North East Michigan Conference losses.

And thanks to Standish-Sterling's split with Pinconning the same afternoon, the Falcons moved into a tie in the loss column atop the NEMC and can claim a share of the league title with a sweep of Whittemore-Prescott on Monday, May 22.

Rick Dodridge hit a home run and drove in six runs in the doubleheader, while 20 stolen bases put the Falcons on the MHSAA all-time team stolen bases list for the second year in a row.

Dodridge allowed one hit in four innings in the opener walking three and striking out seven.

The Owls scored first when Mike Lamrock reached base on an error and scored on a groundball out.

"Rick and Matt (Faiman) were both very good on the mound," said Ogemaw coach Jeremiah Peace. "Rick seems to be getting the bat going really well right now. Hopefully we can carry momentum from our past three games right through districts."

Michael Noffsinger had two hits, scored three times and stole four bases to lead the Falcons' offense, and Dodridge drove in four runs in the game. Kelvin Page added three steals.

The Falcons tied the score at 1-1 in the first, then added three runs in the second, four in the fourth and three in the fifth to end it by building a 10-run lead.

In the second game, Faiman shut out the Owls on three hits while striking out 10 without a walk.

Aaron Kihn and Anthony Betancourt each had two hits. Dodridge hit a home run and drove in two runs, Kihn had two RBIs and Betancourt had a double and three RBIs.

The Falcons (23-6) have won nine straight and host Grayling on Thursday.
