Oscoda 104, at Ogemaw Heights 82

OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Sep. 28, 2006 - The Oscoda girls swim team won nine of 12 events Thursday as the Owls took a 104-82 Independent Swim Conference dual meet at Ogemaw Heights.

Winning individual events for the Owls were Jessica Migan in the 200-meter freestyle (2:21.57); Becca Businski in the 200-IM (2:39.96) and 500-free (6:19.81); Alyssa Peters in the 50-free (28.17); Erika Nolff in divind (202.80); Brittany Lynch in the 100-butterfly (1:16.07); Megan Stamp in the 100-back (1:14.43). Taking relays were Stamp, Peters, Brittany Lynch and Businski in the 200-medley relay (2:13.20) and Katie Killingbeck, Stamp, Migan and Businski in the 400-free relay (4:24.84).

Nolff's score in diving was less than one point from breaking the Owls' school record.

Individual event-winners for Ogemaw were Autumn Gabourie in the 100-free (1:02.72)and Kate Friederichs in the 100-breast (1:22.91). Amber Schmitt, Friederichs, Gabourie and Kayla Brindley won the 200-free relay (1:58.79).

Also finishing in the top three for the Owls were Kacey Doherty, Brittany Kaiser, Elisabeth Billiel and Brittany Buchmann in the 200-medley relay (3rd, 2:29.08); Brynne Raymond in the 200-free (3rd, 2:33.32); Stamp in the 200-IM (3rd, 2:47.92); Ashley Rauch in diving (2nd, 105.30); Killingbeck (2nd, 1:09.02) in the 100-free; Migan (2nd, 6:19.90) in the 500-free; Peters, Buchmann, Billiel and Migan in the 200-free relay (2nd, 1:59.17); and Taylor (3rd, 1:23.83) in the 100-breast.

Top-three finishers for the Falcons were the 200-medley relay team of Jordan Brindley, Kelsi Rutherford, Friederichs and Stephanie Gildner (2nd, 2:17.85); Kayla Brindley in the 200-free (2nd, 2:26.00); Gabourie in the 200-IM (2nd, 2:42.59); Friederichs (2nd, 2:42.59) and Jordan Brindley (3rd, 29.82) in the 50-free; Melanie Tolfree in diving (3rd, 104.40); Maureen Eagan (2nd, 1:28.55) and Ali Gray (3rd, 1:30.12) in the 100-butterfly; Gildner (3rd, 1:11.67) in the 100-free; Kayla Brindley (3rd, 6:34.84) in the 500-free; Rutherford, Tori Rabadue, Eden Collins and Gray in the 200-free relay (3rd, 2:06.63) in the 200-free relay; Jordan Brindley (2nd, 1:18.10) in the 100-back; Rutherford (2nd, 1:25.11) and Rabidue (3rd, 1:27.34) in the 100-breast; Gabourie, Kayla Brindley, Jordan Brindley and Rabidue (2nd, 4:32.10) and Gildner, Gray, Megan Johnson and Schmitt (3rd, 4:57.35) in the 400-free relay.
