Braves continue Falcons' offensive misery

OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Sep. 11, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights has had trouble finding the goal so far this season, and Tawas Area didn't to the Falcons any favors on Monday ast the Bravess took a 3-1 North East Michigan Conference soccer victory.

"We struggled tonight, but a win is a win," said Tawas coach Ken Cook, noting that only 12 of the Braves' 29 shots were on goal. "Ogemaw did a nice job of winning the ball in the middle of the field, plus our shooting was off."

Sean Freel, Cody Kadrich each scored goals, with Dylan Loga and Aran Freel picking up assists for the Braves. The Falcons, who forced Tawas goalkeeper Alex Revord to make just four saves, picked up a goal from Brian Marshall, with the assist from Jan Bergholz.

"We had ourselves in the game, but we let it get away from us," said Ogemaw coach Ken Cook. "We missed two penalty kicks, or the score might have been flip-flopped.

"We've been able to play with teams like Tawas and Cheboygan. We can gernate opportunities, but can't finish them off. It's been a funny season that way.

Brian Marshall, off an assist from German exchange student Jan Bergholz, tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half before Tawas took a 2-1 lead at the break.

Tawas improved to 5-1 (4-0 NEMC) while Ogemaw dropped to 2-6 (1-3).
