PINCONNING - Sep. 27, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights' Nick Rau scored two second half goals to help the Falcons pull away from a 2-2 halftime tie at Pinconning on Wednesday.

Casey Smith and Jan Bergholz scored in the first half to give Ogemaw a 2-0 lead. But within seconds of Smith's goal with three minutes left in the first half, Pinny's Dustin Stone answered with a goal, then added his second score in the final minute of the half to tie it up.

"We relaxed a bit after the second goal," said Ogemaw coach Jeff Young. "We shouldn't have done that, but lesson learned. Once we got the lead back in the second half, we kept the game at their end of the field."

Ogemaw outshot Pinny 18-13 and had 13 shots in the second half, including seven on goal.

In addition to losing the game, the Spartans (6-6, 3-6 NEMC) lost Corbin Miller and K.C. Publow to injuries.

Ogemaw (6-8, 5-4) had Kyle Dantzer with nine saves, while Randy Howard had six for Pinny.
