JOHN GLENN - Sep. 14, 2006 - For the second time in a week, the Ogemaw Heights boys soccer team stayed with one of the top NEMC teams for a half before having the game get away.
The Falcons were tied 1-1 with John Glenn until the final minute of the first half before going down to a 4-1 defeat.
"Once again we played well and had our opportunities," said Falcon coach Jeff Young. "We had our opportunities, but couldn't convert any of our shots.
"I wish there was a magic wand that could break us out of (our scoring slump). But there isn't one; we just have to keep our heads up and keep playing."
Peter Rudnik's goal in the 30th minute of the first half tied it at 1-1, but Glenn scored a minute before halftime and added two scores in the second half. Ty Richards had two goals with Josh Moszyk and Evan Perkins adding one apiece.
Ogemaw dropped to 2-7 (1-4 NEMC) while Glenn improved to 5-2 (4-1).
