BAY CITY ALL SAINTS - May 28, 2005 - Whittemore-Prescott jumped into a field of challenging opponents at the Bay City All Saints softball invitational Saturday and came home empty-handed after dropping three games.
The Cards lost to Bay City Central (Class A) 7-1 in the first game, fell to fifth-ranked All Saints 10-2 and lost to NEMC foe John Glenn 5-3 in the final game.
In each game, the late innings proved decisive. Central scored four runs in the sixth to break open what had been a close contest; All Saints scored five in the sixth inning; and Glenn scored the decisive runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Kelli Barriger had two hits in the first game, while Kaylon Leslie had three hits in the final game.
The losses dropped the Cards to 26-9. |
