W-P comes from behind in nightcap to overcome Oscoda

WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - April 11 2005 - Theresa Janish drove in the tying run in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Andrea Rahkola drove in Janish with the go-ahead run as Whittemore-Prescott came from behind to defeat Oscoda 5-2 and earn a doubleheader sweep on Monday.

The Cards won the opening game 10-1.

Oscoda scored two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead, but the back to back doubles ignited the game-winning four-run rally that kept the Cards unbeaten at 6-0.

"We need to be smarter on the bases and swing at better pitches," said W-P coach Sam Harrison. "But the girls get the credit for fighting back when behind."
