STANDISH-STERLING - April 14, 2005 - Tawas Area edged Standish-Sterling 1-0 on Thursday as a deflected direct kick resulted in a Panther own goal that accounted for all of the scoring.
"We dominated play; we just couldn't put the ball in the net," said Tawas coach Ken Cook, noting the Braves' 15-2 advantage in shots in goal. "Our defense is doing a great job of puttin gthe ball upfield for our attack."
Leanne Golimbieski had 15 saves for the Panthers (2-1, 1-1 NEMC) while Kim Dewey, Rebecca Becker and Whitney Rokosz were credited by coach John Rudberg for having strong games.
Tawas improved to 3-1, 2-1 NEMC. |
