WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT – Jan. 20 2005 – The Whittemore-Prescott volleyball team, fresh off taking its lumps at the Gaylord Invitational last Saturday, returned to the friendly confines of their own gym Thursday and swept visiting Lincoln-Alcona 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.
“(The Cards') overall play was better tonight,” said W-P coach Helen Loomis. “Especially our defense. The girls seem to have regained their confidence, and hopefully we'll continue to improve.” Leading the Cards (14-5-3) were Emily Hebert with 2 aces and 16 digs; Erica Loomis with 5 blocks and 15 kills; and Theresa Janish with 22 assists. |
