HOUGHTON LAKE - Feb. 26 2005 - The Ogemaw Heights volleyball team hoped to be able to host next week's Class B regional tournament as a participant. The Falcons came close to doing just that, falling in five games in the District 62 championship contest to Cheboygan.

The Falcons opened the day with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-9 sweep of Grayling, defeated Elk Rapids 26-28, 25-13, 25-17, 27-25, and lost to the Chiefs 25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 28-26, 5-15.

Leading the Falcons were Lauren Shepardson with 12 aces, 51-of-53 serving and 35 kills; Lauren Rowe with 38-of-40 serving and 8 aces; Laura Budge with 60 assists; Sarah Killackey with 28 kills; and Kelly Wangler with 21 kills.

The Falcons wrapped up their season with a 26-18-9 mark.
