VASSAR - Feb. 5 2005 - The Ogemaw Heights volleyball team earned its third second-place tournament finish of the season Saturday at Vassar, losing only to Imlay City in the championship match after winning twice and splitting two other matches.

The Falcons split their first match with Imlay City 19-25, 25-20; avenged the previous week's defeat to Standish-Sterling 25-20, 26-24; split with Birch Run 14-25, 25-19; defeated Vassar 25-14, 25-20; and lost the rematch with Imlay City 13-25, 17-25.

Leading the Falcons were Lauren Shepardson with 33 kills and 42 digs; Beth Thibault with 40-of-43 serving and 7 aces; Laura Budge with 50 assists; and Kelly Wangler with 7 blocks.

The Falcons improved to 16-13-8 for the season.
