Eagles lose final home game

HALE - Feb. 24 2005 - The Hale volleyball squad lost its final home match of the year in four games to Mio AuSable, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 20-25.

Hale coach Kristi Benedict was disappointed in the loss.

"Serving errors and mistakes at crucial points of the game continue to be the downfall of the team," she said. "The girls would be playing well, then the next moment they'd be running into each other and out of position. When they were playing well and hitting hard, Mio couldn't return it."

Shannon Self and Laura Barclay played a strong match for the Eagles.

"Shannon played an excellent match," Benedict said. "She was hitting the ball hard and had some good saves on defense."

Barclay was 94 percent (16-of-18) serving with 1 ace. Other Hale leaders included Jessica Beasinger with 4 aces; Brandi Jaremba with 25 assists; Self with 18 kills; Stephanie Windsor with 12 digs; and Barclay with 3 blocks.

The Eagles finished 8-6 in North Star League play.
