Hale gets past  Arenac Eastern

HALE - Feb. 10 2005 - The Hale volleyball team broke a streak of seven losses in eight  matches  Thursday as  they swept Arenac Eastern 25-7, 25-15, 25-17.

"The girls needed that win," Hale coach Kristi Benedict said. "We served poorly overall, but were moving and communicating much better than we have been.

"Kara (Hunt) probably had her best game of the  season. The girls were hitting the ball a  little better than they have been -- Karys (McKulsky), Andrea (Herzog), Kara and Shannon (Self) all contributed at the net.

"Jess (Beasinger) had a good night serving and along with Steph (Windsor) and Erin (Grove) all three girls contributed on the defensive side."

Leading the Eagles (7-12, 6-5 NSL) were Beasinger with 7 aces; Brandi Jaremba with 14 assists; Herzog with 9 kills and 2 blocks; and Self and Beasinger with 3 digs apiece;

Arenac Eastern dropped to 0-17-1, 0-10.
