Atlanta trip tough on Hale
ATLANTA – Jan. 10 2005 – The trip to Atlanta has not been kind to the Hale volleyball team in recent seasons, and Monday's contest was no exception.

The Eagles went down to a 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 defeat as Elizabeth Morton dominated the net.

“...(Morton) is very good and she pretty much beat us,” Hale coach Kristi Benedict said. “We came out flat and were close in score, but just couldn't get past them.

“The girls had a lot of fundamental errors and pretty much beat themselves.”

A bright spot for Hale was an effective night from the service line, where as a team they were 92 percent.

Other than that, Benedict said, “They weren't talking as a team. Things weren't smooth and they were either running into each other or letting the ball drop.”

Leading the way for the Eagles were Shannon Self, Kara Hunt and Andrea Herzog with 3 kills apiece; Brandi Jaremba with 19 assists; Hunt with 5 digs; and Laura Barclay with 1 ace.

The Eagles dropped to 2-6 overall, 1-1 in North Star League contests.
