AGS endures another marathon, earn split

ATLANTA - Feb. 7 2005 - The AuGres-Sims earned a doubleheader split for the second consecutive Monday, and this time the deal included a four-hour round trip to Atlanta.

Having to make up a snowed out North Star League match, the Wolverines and Huskies played a doubleheader Monday, with AGS falling 16-25, 22-25, 26-24, 14-25 in the first match and winnin the second 16-25, 25-23, 26-24, 27-25.

"We started the evening a little slow and didn't play up to our potential," AGS coach Jeri Christie said. "The girls played hard, but the serves and kills of Atlanta's Elizabeth Morton were tough. She seemed to find all our holes.

"We rallied back to pull out the win in the second match, which was a nice way to finish."

In the first match, the Wolverines (10-10-4, 6-5 NSL) were led by Tasha Dewald with 21 digs and 4 aces; Jamie Taylor with 10 service points and 22 assists; and Angle Porn with 4 aces and 10 kills. Seven of the nine Wolverines served 100 percent in the match.

In the second contests, Porn had 5 aces and 13 kills; Tahlor had 24 assists; and Dewald had 27 digs.
